Beth VanStory Beth VanStory

As principal of Thinkout, Beth oversees all client projects. A seasoned executive, Beth has over 20 years experience in launching and building consumer-facing businesses. Her consulting clients range from startups to Fortune 500.

Her experience being an entrepreneur in established companies illustrates her ability to leverage existing resources be it personnel, processes or systems. As Vice President and General Manager of OfficeDepot.com, Beth led the online division to profitabilty within one year, demonstrating her results-orientation and skill at building online businesses. Previously she developed and executed the business plan for weather.com for The Weather Channel, building it to a top content site. Her efforts at both companies resulted in numerous awards including Office Depot being a two-time winner of both the Retail Network Innovation and CIO Web 50/50 awards.

As President of venture-backed iMotors, Beth was responsible for the entire customer experience including marketing, business development, customer care and all systems development and operations. Earlier in her career Beth held positions in product management and marketing with several Fortune 500 companies. She began her career in interactive media in the early days of interactive TV with Bell Atlantic's ground-breaking Stargazer TV.

Beth is a recognized leader in the online field. She has spoken at numerous events both in the United States and abroad including the national conferences of the National Retail Federation, Comdex, the Software Publisher's Assoication, Jupiter Research and Forrester Research events and others. She has been profiled and quoted in publications including CIO Magazine, Newsweek, New York Newsday, Internet World, Communications Week, Information Week, and numerous local papers. She has appeared on CNET, ZDTV's Silicon Spin and has testified before Congress regarding issues in the high tech field.

Beth is a former director of shop.org, an association of both online and physical retailers that is now part of the National Retail Federation. She also served as a member of the Board of Directors of then publicly held Michaels Stores.

She also works with Girls for a Change and is actively involved in her daughter's school.
